Summary:
Spark is the forth book in the Swipe series. In this novel it takes a turn from the usual characters and introduces someone new. A nine year old girl, Ali, discovers that technology acts weird around her compared to most people. Later on in the novel it is discovered that Ali has a connection to something called the Ultranet. This is an AI that runs almost all of the world's technology. Because of this Ali is able to manipulate the world around her yet that draws unwanted attention from the Union leader Cylis. Cylis manipulates Ali under the persona of Uncle Nico and gets her to tell him all about the Ultranet which leads to him wanting control over the entire thing. At the end of the book Cylis shoots Ali, however she is able to live due to the surgeons of robotic creatures called Tinchers. The book ends with everyone wondering what is next for their world.

Greed: The novel emphasizes that for certain people, there is no limit to how much they want and what they will do in order to achieve it. Cylis has control over most of the world yet he is still not satisfied with it.
The control of technology: The novel is able to illustrate just how much we rely on technology and all of the horrible things that would go wrong if someone was able to completely control it.
Trust: There is so much trust that is broken throughout the novel. It shows that even the people you think are closest to you still may ruin your lives in order get ahead.
